Suggest Treatment For Leg Pain Leading To Sleeplessness And Tiredness

I am 47 and I quit smoking 19 days ago, for the past 2 weeks my legs hurt so bad, it is making me crazy. I have tried 800 mg motrin, aspirin, otc advil, and a muscle relaxer none of it helps, I can t sleep and standing and sitting are painful as well. I so tired can you tell me if this is normal and if it is EVER going to stop?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The possibilities are neuropathic pain or peripheral vascular disease. As a first line management, you can take drugs like gabapentin for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a vascular surgeon and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
