Suggest Treatment For Elevated Cholesterol Levels

HI, I recently had a medical wellness exam and my test results have come back. I am a 73 yr-old female and my chrelestrol is at 266. The urinalysis showed the Leukocytes UA to be 500 and also many bacteria present. I am concerned about both my chrelestrol level and my urinalysis. I have e-mailed the doctor that did the testinng and have not herd back from her yet. Please advise. Thank you, Faye McCord

Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

There are subdivisions of cholesterol
HDL is good cholesterol – higher, the better.
LDL is bad cholesterol – lower, the better / 100 is ideal; in ischemia, 70 should be the aim.
Need Life style changes - weight to normal / No tobacco or alcohol / Diet and exercise
Repeat the test in 6 to 8 weeks… if still high, you need drugs (manufactured in the liver, determined by heredity.) Statin is the first choice.

You have urinary infection
You will need an antibiotic
Give urine for culture / have an ultrasound – for Kidney, ureter, & Bladder / may need pelvic examination too…

Take care
Good luck
