Suggest Treatment For Ear Infection

Hi, I was diagnosed with an ear infection after a viral upper respiratory infection, It started with clogged ears and draining in my left ear. I was prescribed an oral antibiotic and after that antibiotic/steroid ear drops for 7 days. After almost 2 weeks since the infection started I still have a clogged feeling in my left ear (which was draining) the doctor told me 2 days ago it might take a week or 2 to resolve itself and get back to normal - do you think tis is accurate ?

Hello,

It will take weeks for complete recovery and you might feel clogged feeling or feeling of ear fullness even after recovery. These are quite common and do not over treat and do not instill anything to the ear.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
