Suggest Treatment For Diabetes And Thyroid Disease?

My husband has been diagnosed with diabetis !!, thyroid disease, PAD peripheral artery disease, 40% function of kidnesy, due to Metphormin meds. His legs, for the last year and a half have felt like sticks. He has no circulation from his knees down. It has gotten worse and worse. Took him to my neurologist a few months ago. He put him on Sinemett 3 x a day. It was too much, cut it down to 2X a day. After following up with him we told him he was no better, he switched and put him on a different med (Stalevo 150) 3 x day. He got worse. He also sent him for physical therapy. He has gone 2 X. I am try to get an appointment with another neurologist closer to our home. I can t get an appointment for about 3 months. I am at my wits end. I would appreciate any input that you may have. Thank you. Katherine D Andrea

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear madam I understand your concern.
let me tell some facts about metformin it is the best drug in diabetes,But when kidney function is decreasing its not advisable to give metformin because it is eliminated by kidney.Otherwise metformin is having potential to prevent cancer also in diabetes individuals.
your neurologist did not gave any medications to improve blood supply of his feet.
He is treating him as a case of parkinsonism.
i suggest you to meet a vascular surgeon for his problem in blood circulation
I suppose I have given the desired response if you have any other query please write back.
Otherwise please accept & rate my answer. I will appreciate your review about my answer.
Best Regards.
