Hi, My name is Margaret and 26 years of age. Recently I got dermatitis on my skin. My dermatologit prescribed me Elica lotion but it give me hypersentitivity reaction to the soles of my hands and feet. I went consulting dermatologist and prescribed me Colbetasol. It work for 3 days but after, I'm starting to have large red spots on my skin and too itchy. What should I do?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain Dermatitis leading to severe itching and red spots or rashes seems to be due to allergic reaction and you need to consult an Allergist and get evaluated so that he can do proper allergic testings like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test to rule out the exact cause of allergic reaction and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you anti allergic medications like Levocetrizine or Allegra and can also advise you topical application of anti allergic or steroid ointment s keeping in view the ones that do not cause allergic reaction.. Doing cool compresses and application of calamine lotion can also help.. He can also instil an immunotherapy to reduce the severity of allergic reaction..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
