Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pancreatitis
I am diagonisis with chronic pancreatitis since last four years with two times hospitalisation with acute pancreatitis attack. Last two years I am well with treatment from AIG, Hyderabad(Dr. R Talukdar) and very controlled low fat diet and lifestyle modification. But stil USG shows parenchems are mildly altered in body & tail region of pancreas. Is there any treatment for the complete cure of CP? Pls help.

There is no complete cure for chronic pancreatitis, but treatment can help control the condition and reduce any symptom.
Treatment of it is divided into non pharmalogical treatment and pharmalogical treatment
Non pharmalogical treatment includes
1. Lifestyle changes
2. Avoiding alcohol
3. Stopping smoking
4. Dietary changes which includes low fat diet as this all are the triggering factors for the chronic pancreatitis.
Pharmalogical Treatment includes
1. Pancreatic enzyme supplements
2. Steroid medication
3. Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs(NSAIDS) for the pain relief
and in severe cases you can go for the surgical treatment which includes
1. Endoscopic surgery
2. Pancreas resection
or 3. Total pancreatectomy
