Suggest Treatment For Back Pain Due To Degeneration Of Discs

Developed severe low back pain last few months especially during night and getting out of bed. Gets a bit better with anti - inflammatories. Age 55. Xray showed some degeneration of discs with a possible inflammatory aspect in the discs. How can I manage it?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely osteochondrosis or disc degeneration due to previous trauma or wear and tear.A MRI might be needed to find out problem in detail. In my patients with such cases i advise NSAIDs like Aceclofenac muscle relaxants like thiocolchicoside and neurotropic drugs.I also send them to physiotherapy and muscle strengthening exercise along with this.Wearing of Lumbar supporting belt also helps in some.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
I find this answer helpful
