Hi,

Sorry to hear about your chronic problem as It any be very distressing. The most important thing to take care about in anal fissure is to avoid constipation.

For this taking high fibre diet like fruits, salads, green vegetables is very helpful. Apart from that make sure to take plenty of fluids and have regular walk.

You may also use isphaghul husk for constipation. You may also use topical nitrates for chronic fissures. For pain relief, topical lignocaine proves very helpful.

In spite of all these measures for a month, if still, symptoms don't improve then I would suggest you see your doctor regarding consultation of surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Muhammad Zahir Shah, Internal Medicine Specialist
