Suggest Treatment For PCOD

Hi, I'm 31 yrs of age, married, with no children yet. I'm undergoing treatment for Hypothyroidism and PCOD. I'm 5 feet 6inches tall and weigh 94 kilos. I'm on 500mcg of Glucophage (thrice a day) and 75mcg of Eltroxin. I've been told by my Doctor that I am "pre-diabetic" and need to control diet and weight. But I've also been told that PCOD is for life and that it never really goes away. Is that true? Would I have to spend the rest of my life with this medication? Would I become a full blown diabetic? Please help.
