i have a sore throat for i think approximately 2 weeks now, as far as i can remember. it started as a mild sore throat which i usually get whenever i am having cold.

after a couple of days, i was hoarsed which i thought was normal and i was coughing at night. so i took a liquid cough and cold medication (theraflu) and it helped. hoarseness was gone but i still have the sore throat, eventhough it doesnt hurt much...i wud say soreness from 1 to 10 is like 1.....but im worried cuz it has been a while now and i would like to know if i can take an antibiotic like penicillin and for how long?

fyi, i dont have or never had fever or any discomfort except that my throat is sore. i had this before but usually it doesnt last this long.
