Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Facial Rash After Chewing Tobacco

I know somehow who was dared by her friends to put chew tobacco inside of her lower lip and the next morning she woke w/sx of an allergic reaction. She had mouth swelling and a facial rash. The young lady went to her PCP and has been taking Benadryl. 2 weeks later she is still experiencing facial peeling and her lips feel tight. What is your suggestion? Should she use anything topical or return to the doctor for an evaluation. ?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain swelling and facial rash after taking tobacco seems to be due to allergic reaction only and it seems to be severe as it is happening even after 2 weeks..

You should continue another 3 days course of anti allergics like Benadryl..
You can apply cooled aloevera gel over the face to reduce inflammation and peeling..
You should do cool compresses over face and lips..
Avoid application of any chemical cosmetic over face..
You should drink plenty of water..

In case if there is no improvement in 3 to 4 days consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Allergic tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
