The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be due to: 1. Migraine 2. Cluster headache 3. Tension headache 4. Sinus headache (due to sinusitis) 5. Underlying systemic cause like Hypertension, etc.
Though symptomatic relief can be obtained with pain killers, unless the underlying cause is treated, symptoms will keep recurring.
So, kindly consult your Physician & get a proper clinical examination done. Investigations like estimation of blood pressure levels, complete blood count, X ray of para nasal sinus & CT scan of brain will be helpful.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely migraine as it is one sided in nature.Do you experienced any black outs while having the attack of head ache?.Most of the people experience that.Migraine cant be cured completely but if you take preventive therapy with medications like amitriptylline or propanolol or Topiramate depending on which suits you,you can prevent frequency and severity of attacks. For acute attack medications like sumatriptan which is available in sprays or acetaminophen with domperidone will be helpful in relieving.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
