I'm 35. I've been having rectal pain/issues. History. In sept. I had some discomfort on my rectum. Around Oct, it was intolarable pain so I went to emergency room. After rectal exam they said internal hymroids. After two days of intolerable pain I went to specalise Dr. He said I might have tear in rectum from constapation. He did surgery and said he could only find little tear and he stiched up. He said pain should only be for another 2 days. Well after a week of constant pain, and Dr. only giving me difrent pain meds. He did another exam and said all looks fine and should go away soon. Well pain finally did go away after 10 days. 3 weeks later. I have the pain again. I am noticing pepper like substance in my stool. I do ride a four wheeler being hunting season. Not sure if this is causing the issure or coinsadence. But I will stop riding bike for a while. My next step wil be to find a better Dr. to see since I wasn't happy with specialist I seen the first time.
Hi. Thank for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. It is higly difficult to have tear in rectum due to constipation and would have caused lots of bleeding. Well, there might have been if your Doctor has said so. The commonest cause of pain in rectum that comes and goes is Proctalgia due to proctitis that is inflammation of the rectum and colon. This can be diagnosed by colonoscopy and biopsy to know the exact cause. Hence I would advise you to consult a Gastroenterologist for colonoscopy, biopsy, tests of blood and stool. MRI of the pelvis and any other tests as might be required. This will give the perfect diagnosis and allow a proper treatment of the cause of pain in rectum. Stress and anxiety are directly related to such pains and hence should be evaluated and treated properly either by self control and medications if required. Also identify the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the pain and stop these altogether.
