Suggest Remedy For Painful Bump On The Back Of Ear

Have a bump on the back of my ear that is about the size of a pea and very painful. Painful to the touch, painful to sleep on. I have put warm compresses on it hoping to bring it to a head so I can "pop" it. Any other advice as to what I should do??? The pain is extreme and I am not one to complain about the pain. Will this eventually clear up on its own or will it get to the point where it will be able to be sqeezed?
