Yes. My 18 year old Daughter has been complaining of itching burning and a vaginal discharge. It sounds Like a VYI to me, but she says her discharge varies in color from filmy white to yellowish green and she says her smells badly. To the best of my knowledge she is still a virgin, but she has used tampons for several years. she is getting ready to go to college and her father has been fighting cancer since January, so stress is definitely a factor. Additionally she is a life guard and wears the typical tight shorts and swimsuit. is there any reason NOT to treat with OTC drugs for a VYI. The reason I am asking, is because she tried to get an appointment with a female Gyno, but the only person who had and appointment was an older, male Dr, and she d rather not if she doesn t have to.
