Hello,

the triglyceride levels in itself are not that important for men compared to cholesterol. Cholesterol elevation are much more dangerous for his blood vessels and it's good news that he has normal values.
Triglycerides above 150mg/dL are not desirable. Sometimes drug treatment is not needed though. For example if he's drinking alcohol or he is fat then he can lower his triglyceride levels by abstaining from alcohol or getting thinner!
Avoiding sugars and fatty foods will definitely help.
Unless his cardiovascular risk is very high I would advice against drug treatment for his triglycerides. I could not estimate his risk because more information is needed (his blood pressure, age, smoking, race, etc)
If he was my patient, I would suggest increasing his physical activity, eating more healthy and loosing weight (if he's overweight).
I hope I've helped!
If you need more information on this subject, please ask!

Kind Regards!
