Hello,

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I went through your history and would like to make suggestions for your friend as follows:

1. I would like to know more details about him like his age, since how long he has asthma, what are the symptoms, any allergies, nose symptoms, medications tried, investigations done, etc etc. These details would help me to understand his problem better and therefore to make more specific suggestions for him.

2. At present, from your given history, I would suggest him spirometry with post-bronchodilator reversibility testing which helps to measures lung capacity as well as to know the type of lung dysfunction he may have.

3. I usually suggest my such patients salbutamol inhaler to be used for wheezing/breathing difficulty etc. However, spirometry would help to choose inhaler for him better. From you given history, I think he might require regular inhaled corticosteroids to prevent frequent asthma attacks.

4. In general, please avoid exposure to dusts, smokes and air pollution as much as possible.

5. Regular physical exercises including breathing exercise as well as diet rich in vitamins & minerals would also help him in improving lung capacity as well as immunity respectively in a long run.

Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.

Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.

Wish your friend the best of the health ahead.

Thank you & Regards.
