Suggest Medications For Cold Fever With Mucus In Children

My son, 3 years 4 months, is suffering from cold and fever. Temp rose up to 39.5. Now, he is having difficulty expelling mucus out of his mouth resulting into coughing fits. We have tried Calpol (paracetamol) for temp and corex/wikoryl for cough with not much help. Please help.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, since you are already giving calpol and corex syrup, and still your child has fever and cough. I think that your child probably needs antibiotics. If I was your treating doctor, i would have given syrup moxclav 5 ml three times a day for 3 days. However, since this is a prescription medicine, i advice you to meet the local doctor to confirm the diagnosis. Take care.
