Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 52 year old Australian female. Since contracting a virus/bacterial infection approx 3 months ago, I have been feeling unwell . I have waves of nausea that come over me usually approx 2 hours after I arise. I also am having upper abdomen cramps that feel almost like a spasm that doesnt last long. I have been experiencing abnormal bowel habbits including alot of diarrhoea that is NOT accompanied by the normal diarrhoea cramping. I have also noticed some weightloss. I am on Pariet(ant acid), Crestor (cholesterol) & Cymbalta (anti depressant) medications.
Good morning 1) symptoms of Nausea, upper abdomen cramps, diarrhea suggest indigestion or irritable bowel syndrome (diarrhea type) 2) Do you have any amount of mucus or blood with stool? 3) What is about your appetite? Do you have burning pain in middle of chest during empty stomach (fasting state)? 4) If answers to all these are negative then I might suspicious about your symptoms secondary to your anti-depressant medication and you need to consult your doctor to modify dosage
