Hello
I am a 36 year old male and am having some strange ongoing symptoms. Last year, I was on a business trip to Japan and while there, became sick with flu-like symptoms. When I returned home, my symptoms worsened and I began to get itchy swollen areas of hives in various places. My general practitioner diagnosed pneumonia and prescribed a course of antibiotics, which took care of the problem. Yet now, even a year later, any time that I get any slight form of cold or upper respiratory infection, the hives return and last for 3-4 days. The hives can be anywhere, but usually affect my stomach, arms, and swell my hands. My GP thinks that the hives are just an antigen response that my body has developed. Do you agree or could there be an underlying condition? Thanks for your help!
