Suggest Cure For Sickness In The Stomach

For about 2 years, I ve had a change in what I feel is my lower GI. I have absolutely no constipation or diarrhea but would have very soft stools and sometimes an urgency to have to go. In the last two months, I ve now noticed that a lot of the urgency is gone but that my stools seem to be mucus-y and my anus has a distinct fishy smell even after I ve wiped. If I was in the tub after a BM, the smell seems to return within an hour or so. Not that I can notice it from afar, but the toilet paper will have that odor. I m a 47 year old male.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to irritable bowel syndrome.

I recommend you do a stool test and a complete blood count to exclude other possible causes.

I suggest you use daily probiotics.

I also recommend to drink water and use a plain diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
