Suggest A Remedy For The Severe Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Hi I'm 23 years old, I'm five foot six and weigh about 11 stone. 3 and a half years ago I was diagnosed with IBS which I received no pain medication for untill 6 months ago when I was perscribed merbentyl. IBS ensures that my day to day life is uncomfortable at best, quite painful at most. I'm not constantly bloated but I am bloated after consuming most things. Bloat free moments are usually first thing in the morning. This is complicated by my implanon which for the past couple of months has made me feel as if I'm on my period even when I'm not (although its shows up when I'm stressed and after all sexual activity). So I am bloated most of the time (I am trying to erradicate all foods that irritate me but it is a long ongoing process). My main concern is that I have ovarian cancer, although I know it is unlikely I feel that I have become fixated on the idea. Being in pain or uncomfortable all the time makes it hard to beleive something serious isn't wrong. Last time I went to my doctor they just gave me an STI test and told me to take two merbentyl 3 times a day rather than one. I have been with my partner for five years and have never been with anybody else and neither has he so the likleyhood of an STI is pretty slim. I don't have problems finnishing meals, I don't feel full quickly unless I'm particularily ill but I do get a lot of pain down below. Is there a chance I have ovarian cancer or am I just not coping with IBS very well?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
For one to say this to be due to IBS you need to undergo all the relevant tests as follows:
Tests of blood, stool and urine. CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis - this will also help to rule out any ovarian pathology including cancer or so.
Colonoscopy and an upper GI Endoscopy.
Clinical evaluation by a Gastroenterologist and Gynecologist.
IF all the tests are negative then your problem can be taken as due to IBS and thus can be treated with medications for the stress and anxiety that is the basic cause of IBS.
Id anything is found during the course of an investigations a specific treatment can be given for cure.
You are already trying to eliminate the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance your symptoms.
