Suffering with BV, no relief with antibiotics, want to start probiotic acideophilus tablets and folic acid. Will it help?

Hello. I am a lady aged 50 who has just been diagnosed with BV after being in a lot of discomfort for many months now when my periods stopped. Ive just finished another course of antibiotics but still feel sore and am omitting an intermittent foul smell which I can t control. After having read many other peoples comments on the internet, I have today bought Probiotic Acideophilus tablets and Folic Acid tablets from the Health food shop. Is there anything else you can suggest to help the soreness and make the embarrassing smell go away? I saw a specialist last week who has also put me on a course of low dosage HRT pessaries and I have to see him again in 6 weeks but would like to speed things up. Your assistance would be most appreciated. Thanks. Regards Janet.

Probiotic Acidophilus tablets and Folate would help. Using only cotton undergarments are must and changing them frequently before they soak is advised to avoid the smell.
