Suffering from humming sound in left ear

My daughter aged 20 suffering from humming sound in left ear since one year, in addition to this she is also suffering with vertigo some times and the sound always disturbing her day to day works. She is also suffering some times with radiating left eye pain. When eye pain is coming, the left ear sound is increasing. She is doubting that the eye pain is probably coming before mensturation starts. We contacted one of the neurologist and he advised for brain scanning and diagnised she is suffering from migraraine. She medicated for some time with migranil and pronolol. When she used the medicines the eye pain decreased and when she stops the medicines she is suffering with migraraine pain. She is suffering with migrarine since six years but she is suffering with the ear problem since 2 year. We consulted with an ENT specialist also and medicated for some time but there is no use. Please extent your necessary suggestion in this regard.

Since it is headache which has lead to humming sound in ear Digital X-Ray PNS or CT PNS may rule out a possibility of any sinus or ear problem. A medical Checkup with Internist (Physician) with investigations like RBS, Kidney Function Test, Liver Function Test etc may help reach a definitive diagnosis. A thourough check up is recommended. In the meanwhile plain steam inhalation with facial massage with oil like cocconut oil may help relieve symptoms temporarily.

3 months ago, I have inner ear infection on my left ear with vertigo. Vertigo last for a week but hearing of my left ear has not fully recovered. I can only hear noise but not conversation as the the hearing for high frequency has not recovered. When I move my head from left to right I can hear poping sound. Does it mean that I have a loose eardrum? Will loose eardrum affect my hearing?

Hi there, I have suffered intermittently with a very itchy left inner ear. This is usually accompanied with a dripping type sensation inside my ear or a squelching sound if I move my jaw. (There s never really any discharge but it does feel wet). This evening the itching sensation got bad and I also had some sort of hearing loss in that ear. When I was going to bed I noticed a large bit of dark brown sticky discharge. Could this be an infection? Many thanks,Sinead

Am querying current line of thinking by several consultants. Admitted to hospital May 2011; lumbar puncture showed elevated CSF protein of 1088 mg/L with 228 white cells, 95% lymphocytes. The working diagnosis was viral meningitis, and I was discharged after 2 days aciclovir. Negative for herpes simplex virus 1 and 2. Developed infection in leg early October 2011, followed by painful groin, then ulcers either side of scrotum - non painful, and diagnosed as shingles. Mid October 2011, following tinitus, buzzing , hearing different frequencies, then vertigo, admitted for 2 weeks in ID ward...CSF showed 614 white cells with 90% lymphocytosis. CSF protein raised at 1335 mg/L. Tested for everything under the sun, incl. HIV, syphillis, Lyme disease, Cat scratch fever (leg infection thought to have been through an insect bite). All negative, incl. ANA. Chest x-ray, MRI scan of brain and whole spine also negative. Admitted again 26th December 2011, aciclovir for seven days, now back home feeling well, if a little tired. Current thought is Mollarets meningitis, but more recently, rheumatology dept. thinking Behcets syndrome, as I suffer from mouth ulcers. My contention is this; I have sufferd from mouth ulcers since a teenager taking exams at school. If I have a job interview, I will get mouth ulcers after @ 48 hours. Dentist thinks stress induced, as do I. I have no aching joints and no eye irritation, also, just found out that HLAB51 negative. I am a 42 year old British male and caucasian. I can t help feeling there s a square peg being pushed into a round hole here. What about migraine; the tinitus, buzzing and vertigo? Also, I took a non-steroidal (Ibuprofen) prior to the first two episodes. Bickerstaff s encephalitis sounds just as plausible as Behcets...or am I in denial? I would appreciate any advice, even if it s to simply face the music . Thank you for your time.

2 1/2 weeks after gallbladder removal I started getting dizzy. It subsides when I turn my head quickly. I notice that a lot of people have persistant dizziness or vertigo following gallbladder surgery. I've been to the doctor who recommended sinus rince and decongestant. What do you think?
