Suffering From Brain Hemmorage Due To Stroke. Left Hand And Leg Not Functioning. Kidney And Heart Functions And BP Reading Good. Guide
Sir My mother admitted for braim hemmorage. Affected by stroke . Right side hand and leg not functioning. After 12 hours she was admitted in emergency ward. She is in ICU for more than 72 hrs. Doctors said she is out of danger. Machine reading on BP, kidney, heart functions are good. But Doctors said it will take long time for her to recover . They are shifting her from the ICU to Stroke Ward. They said the concious level is at 5.
She opens her eye only for seconds and closes it. When will she open her eye and recognize us. please guide .
You have stated that her conscious level is at 5 means the GCS score is 5.that is calculated in taking consideration of eye opening, verbal response, motor response(movement of limbs).so the level is below 7 means not so good. also she is having right sided hemiplegia. now, in which part the hemorrhage has occurred and what is the size of that, age of the patient,Blood sugar level, any associated infection of fever-------those are important issues.A good observation and proper medication is necessary which is only possible under doctor. It will obviously take time to resolve and if no fresh hemorrhage occurs that will be fine. it is not known to me if she is diabetic, hypertensive or having any chronic disease.at this stage doctor will try to control her blood pressure, sugar level, infection etc.this is a very vital stage to maintain her parameters normally.if the bleeding is on the outer side of brain then some sort of surgery like burr hole surgery can be done.(your doctor can give better response of that).but bleeding to some location in internal part of brain requires time to resolve or shunting surgery can be done though the best decision will be taken by her doctor regarding treatment plan.along with that after regaining of sense she will need physiotherapy and if any difficulty in speech occurs then speech therapy will be needed .now she should be cared in proper aseptic condition and continuous monitoring is needed.Exactly how long it will take to regain her sense can not be interpreted .Sometimes the bleeding presses on some vital centers of brain and in that case that may result in fatal response. But it can be stated that if no complication arises then the recovery will take less time than a complicated one.So keeping faith on god I wish her early recovery.
