Suffered Miscarriage. Unable To Withhold Urine, Heaviness In The Left Part Of Tummy And Severe Leg Pains. Please Advise.

Hi Doc. Iam a 28 year old female. I had an abortion 2 years back. Iam currently facing issues in holding back urine. when I have to urinate, i need to rush as I dont have any control over the flow. and end up soiling the clothes every time. after the urination i feel heaviness in the left part of my tummy and severe leg pains. please advise. Thanks.

Hi,
You are 28/F, suffering from urinary incontinence and pain in the left side of lower abdomen along with severe pain in leg after passing urine. You had an abortion 2 yr back.
Other than pregnancy, child birth and menopause - Weak bladder muscles, overactive bladder muscles, and nerve damage can also be the cause. The various types are called as stress incontinence, urge incontinence, overactive bladder, functional incontinence, overflow incontinence, mixed incontinence, and transient incontinence
The various categories are explained for You to understand that urinary incontinence is common in ladies and treatable.
Diagnosis of urinary incontinence in women may involve a physical exam, an ultrasound, uro dynamic testing, and tests including cystoscopy, urinalysis, and a bladder stress test.
Treatment of urinary incontinence in women may include behavioral, bladder training and exercises, medication, neuro modulation, surgery, catheterization, or a combination of these therapies. The dr may suggest which treatment is needed for you.
While you do the investigations the cause of pain in the left sided abdomen, leg and h/o abortion may be found out. Consult Urologist and gynecologist
