Strong Pain In Roof Of Mouth, Bump In Tongue, Wearing Retainer. Any Ideas?

Hello,
I've recently been having some strong pain in the roof of my mouth, in the hard section of my palat. I didn't really think of it, due to the fact I had not been wearing my retainer for a few days. (I had braces a few years ago, and I wear a retainer every night) The next morning, my tounge brushed against something unfamiliar, and I now have a bump there. It's not huge, but it's interrupting my swallowing and chewing and causing some pain. I was looking to do some research and I was wondering if you knew anything about it.

Dentist 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptoms i suppose that the bump had developed on the tongue due to trauma caused by the retainer get a thorough clinical examination done by the Dentist, if the retainer is causing any trouble get it corrected. Apply Dologel oral ointment topically over the affected area.
Use antiseptic mouthwash gargles and maintain a good oral hygiene.

Take care!
