Stent Replaced After Heart Attack. BP Is 143/68. Need To Be Concerned?

My husband is 55..he had a stent replaced in August 2011 after a heart a in March 2011 (from Mobic use, his blood work was all within normal ranges at the time). His blood pressure is 143/68. Is there any concern. We are uninsured and paying off the hospital from his heart attack. Sometime he will feel pressure upon exersion (sp?) but the pressure will subside when he relaxes.
thank you

Hi and thanks for the query,

With a stent placed and blood pressure as such, he really has not to be pressured. It is not unusual to experience some slight fluctuations in blood pressure. Stressing factors in the environment and physical activity could explain the changes. It becomes a call for concern with the changes are too drastic, too frequent and accompanied by other symptoms like palpitations or fainting.

At this point, I strongly suggest he remains very adherent to his medications and life style recommendations given him by his doctor. He can lead a normal life as any other person. If the pressure on exertion intensifies or is so frequent, it should be good to see his cardiologist for review.

He should stay calm, see his cardiologist to review for the pressure on exertion and take his medications as prescribed. NO stress for now as I wish him the best of health. Kind regards.
