Soft Lump On Vaginal Opening, Hurts While Putting Tampons Due To Scratching. How To Remove?

I'm a female, age 17, and for as long as I can remember, I've had this soft-ish lump on the top opening of my vagina, and it leads to the inside, it's quite prominent but not larger than a cherry. I have no clue if that's normal or not..
It hurts a little if I press down with moderate pressure, but not painfully a lot. It kind of has this ribbed feeling on it, and when I put tampons in, it hurts a lot because it's scratching against/pushing too hard against it.

Hello
thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
You could be talking about your clitoris alongwith the urethra.
On the other hand it could also be a bartholin's gland cyst, or any other cyst on the vaginal wall.
It is extremely difficult to say for sure just based on the generalized description.
it is desirable that you should have a gynecological check up with a per speculum and per vaginum examination.
That will tell you for sure.
take care.
