Sneezing, Headaches, Dry Lips, Becomes Worse While Sleeping. Treatment?
hi doctor. for one month now i have had a sneezy nostril and headaches coming with dry lips, which becomes worse when am sleeping but the symptoms reduce during the day. am not coughing and neither do i have fever. what could be the problem and what can be the best treatment. the headache pain is around the forehead, ear area and around the eyes
A history of sneezing and headache suggests congestion of the nasal and para-nasal mucosa. The headache around the forehead, ear and around the eyes is suggestive of infection/ inflammation of the para-nasal sinuses and the ear mucosa. presence of fever suggests that there is focus of infection probably in the upper respiratory tract. Symptoms present during sleeping and disappearing during the day- this diurnal variation indicates an involvement of the para-nasal sinuses.
You need to consult an ENT specialist for clinical examination of the nasal cavity, para-nasal sinuses, ear and also the throat. A X-ray of the para-nasal sinuses needs to be done. If there is presence of discharge, it needs to be examined. Appropriate antibiotics can be prescribed after complete investigations.
