Skipped Heartbeat Due To Intake Of Armor Thyroid Medication. EKG And BP Normal. Suggested Wearing Device For 3 Weeks. Necessary?

I went to a cardiologist two days ago for a skipped heartbeat. My EKG was excellent as was my blood pressure. No signs of heart attack. He said the skipped beat may be because the Armor Thyroid medicine I am taking may not be as good as Synthroid. I take 75mg a day before breakfast. I am going to have blood work done next week to check this. Now he wants me to wear a WWW.WWWW.WW device for the next three weeks. I don't think this is necessary and that a device worn for 2 or three days should be sufficient. He doesn't thinks so. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Based on from the information you had a skipped beat and I think your cardiologist asked you to wear HOLTER monitor and you are on synthoid and want to know whether is it necessary to wear that device for 2-3 days.

Holter monitor is a device which records you heart activity which we normally can't detect, as its not possible to be with physician all the time unless you are having date with him/her.

Since you are on synthoid, I will advice you to have it checked as the thyroid hormone is one of the culprit for fast heart beat and cardiac arrhythmia (conversation of regular beat to random pattern which is an emergency condition).

Hope it helps.
Thanks.
