Should I Meet Doctor For Cough, Sore Throat And Fever Of A 6 Year Old?

My 6 year old son (54 lbs.) had a cough x 4 days, fever (101.7) x 2 days, sore throat, and fatigue, and loss of appetite; now the fever is 99.4, sore throat and his tongue has turned a thick coating of gray . He has no rashes, and had a tonsilectomy in March 2011. Does he need to see urgent care tonight?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi

The reasons for this presentation can be streptococcal infection, diphtheria or candidiasis.
Since diphtheria is a serious problem which needs early treatment, so it needs to be checked by clinical examination and throat swab.

I would recommend you to visit a pediatrician immediately for this.

Hopefully this will help you.
Take care
