Should Drug Be Taken To Reduce Cholestrol And Is There Any Side Effects?

My husbands tryglyceride levels were 222(in july 2011 ) and 296 ( in july 2012) and cholestrol levels were 198(in 2011) and 200(in 2012).He walks and exercises daily.Since the triglyceride levels were not reducing the doc has prescribed T.Tonact-TG for 3 months. Please tell me if the drug should be taken and what could be the side effects

Hello.Although the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides are not very high, if the numbers have not decreased with exercise and diet is advisable to take any drug.
Therefore the prescription of the drug (atorvastatin + fenofibrate) is right.Common side effects of the drug are muscle pains or elevation of liver enzymes (GOT, GPT) but if adverse effects are not very severe, treatment will not be interrupted.I wish you good health.
