Should I Seek Medical Attention For A Wasp Sting That Has Affected My Toe?

Two nights ago I was stung by a wasp and the toe is still swollen now and a bumpy redness has spread around about a three jnch diameter around the sting wound, my leg is now starting to go painfully numb. Should I seek medical attention or wait it out?

Hi,
These may be the signs of infection. Therefore, you may need antibiotics. I suggest you see a doctor for further assessment. If it is painful, take paracetamol and ibuprofen in the meantime.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger,
