Should I Be Concerned About Blackish Stools Post Da Vinci Prostate Procedure?
Firstly, is there a cost to this service? Secondly, I had the da Vinci prostate procedure 10 days ago. Recovery is proceeding normally and the catheter is scheduled to be removed coming Tuesday. One question: my stool is blackish. Should I be concerned? Mustafa Ahmed ( YYYY@YYYY ) Age 67
Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!
Blackish stools could be because of the antibiotics that you are on right now and it causes changes in the normal flora of the bacteria in your colon. Another possibility would be bleeding from the rectum which is close to where your surgery happened. I would suggest seeing your urologist to discuss this and probably get a occult blood examination on your stool.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://www.HealthcareMagic.com/doctors/dr-manuel-c-see-iv/66014 I would gladly help you. Best wishes.
