Hello dear,
After going through your history, I believe you have some genuine concern and I will try to help you out of this situation.

Polyps in voice box is not a normal phenomenon. Most of the time these are benign and the only symptom arise out of it is change in voice. It is advisable to go for a surgery to remove them as there is report of polyps changing into malignancy in long term, though it is very rare.

But the main concern is the esophagitis, which is due to reflux of acid formed in the stomach to the esophagus. normally there is a valve at the junction of esophagus and stomach which prevent reflux, but factors like stress, excess smoking or consumption of coffee, tea, alcohol and many other factors lead to weakening of the valve which lead to reflux and the esophagus gets burned repeatedly. This is a major cause of development of cancer in the esophagus, hence has to be dealt with importance.

Reflux of acid gradually comes upto the mouth and it enters the air pipe and affect the voice box. This is a major described cause of polyp in voice box, although vocal abuse is the most common precipitating factor.

In my clinic so to deal with this condition, I advie my clients life style modification as well as medication.
Life style modification include:
1.Weak up early and have 1 liter of luke warm water ( Seems difficult, but will be in habit in a week)
2.Avoid coffee, tea, alcohol, smoking
3.Avoid spicy and oily foods
4. Take frequent small meals ( While eating the more the stomach distends, the more the acid secreted).
5. Have a brisk walk of 15 minutes after meals, walk after dinner is a must.
6. Very importantly, maintain a gap of 2 hours between dinner and going to bed.

If you follow this within one month all your symptom of esophagitis will vanish. If you continue, never such situation will arise.

Now the medication part, I advise my clients proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazol for a couple of weeks along with Lycopene capsules for better healing of esophagitis.

I hope I could solve your query. Please do not hesitate to clarify more doubts for the same situation.

Thank you for the way you are in my life.
