Hello
Thanks for using health care magic for posting your query.
Metformin causes drop in bood sugar. That could be the reason that you are having hypoglycemia and sweating spells.
With metformin you do loose weight and that is very evident in your case. If you are having repeated spells of hypo and hyperglycemia, you can get a HbA1C levels to let you know the profile of sugars. The other way could be to take you off all the medications and then get a fresh blood sugar tests done after 15days. that will do more good than bad to you. Also follow all lifestyle changes such as walking eating small and healthy meals and avoiding sugars and carbs.
Hope I am of help to you,

Hello,
Your symptoms and starting of metformin by your doctor do suggest that you are having uncontrolled diabetes.
Uncontrolled sugar levels lead to loss of weight.
This can be confirmed by getting blood sugar fasting,PP and HBA1c done.
You must also keep a watch on your blood pressure as well as cholesterol levels.
You must keep all your parameters of blood sugar levels, blood pressure and cholesterol levels under meticulous control so as to avoid future micro as well as macro vascular complications.
Thanks

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Severe sweating may be due to high thyroid level, obesity, hypoglycemia, systemic infection or cardiac cause. Since you have heart attack and thyroid problem and for several months sugar has been dropping down to 40 and 50, this may be due to any of the above causes. Since loosing weight there may be other problem or due to Metformin or high thyroid hormone level. So Get done Thyroid profile once with ECG and sugar levels. Get back with the results so we can discuss in detail or with the report consult your doctor for systemic examination once and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Regards
Dr.Lohit
