Severe Sore Throat, Difficulty In Swallowing. Spitting Blood. Worried

Yesterday I had started having severe sore throat , mostly difficulty swallowing . The roof of my mouth and the back of the throat felt similar to how you feel when there is acid reflux . That feeling is still there and I kept clearing my throat a lot. Today while clearing my throat I spat bright red streaks of blood . The back of my throat feels like it s burning. What can this be? Please help I m very worried.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM. Thanks for posting your query. Sore throat and difficulty in swallowing seems to be infection of the oral passage. Dont get worried we are here to help you. It is simple pharyngitis. Salt water gargling- add a pinch of salt in luke warm water and do the gargling in the morning and evening and before sleep. This will help you in soothing of your throat. Avoid cool water, soft drinks and ice creams for a few days. Take more luke warm water for drinking. If the pain is too severe start with antibiotics and antihistamines and pain killers. Please dont attempt to clear the throat too many times which was the reason for your blood streaks.

Dont get worried you will be alright. Hope this is helpful to you.

Thankyou
