Severe Nausea, Diagnosed With Hyperemesis, Had Miscarriages. Been On Duromine. Explain Situation
Hi, my question is can duromine cause a false reading on a pregnancy home test? I've currently been on duromine for 6 wks & 4 days took a pregnancy test because of severe nausea(which I've experience in 4 previous pregnancies) it came back positive & I've missed a period however the feelings have completely subsided. I've checked a My last menstrual cycle & it is possible however through each previous pregnancy I have been diagnosed with hyperemesis as early as 4 wks and have miscarried 3 & birthed one. So nothing feels 'normal' to me but before sitting in a waiting room for an hour & having my blood taken I just thought I'd first ask what the odds are of the duromine altering the pregnancy test outcome. Thanks for the query, Duromine is amphetamine. It is used medically as an appetite suppressant. Less common, but more severe, side effects include:
Convulsions (seizures), Fever,Hallucinations,Agitation and aggression..........It is CONTRAINDICATED in PREGNANCY..Clinical researches conducted in tested animals have revealed serious negative reactions, but it was not confirmed for human due to no data available on the safety of Duromine taken in pregnancy and breastfeeding period. You would have taken some precautions for not getting pregnant.
