Severe Headache And Nauseatic Feeling. Strange Smell Of Smoke. Any Idea?

HI, I have had a severe headache all day long. It got a little better, well a lot better but didn't completely go away. For the past 2 nights, I've been having a strange smell like smoke, maybe cigarette smoke. Neither my husband nor me smoke and he says he doesn't smell it. Anyway, not long after we went to bed tonight, my head started pounding again, throbbing. I have also felt nauseous today but did not vomit, feel nauseous now too.

Dear friend, welcome to Healthcaremagic!
I am Dr. Prasad Akole (Critical Care Expert- http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole) and am glad to address to your query here.

I do not intend to scare you, but your symptoms are classical of a brain lesion (like a tumour).
Headache, nausea/ vomiting and dysosmia (altered smell sensation) are signs of a raised intracranial pressure ICP), likely due to a sellar tumour/ pathology.
Do you get altered vision, giddiness, imbalance?
I would advise urgent medical attention and evaluation to confirm or rule it out.
A CT scan head would be advised.

Till then you may take simple pain killers like Paracetamol upto 1 gram 4 times a day and a chewable anti-emetic like ondansetron 4 mg.

I hope to have answered your query satisfactorily. I would be glad to answer any further queries. Take care and please keep me informed of your progress at http://bit.ly/Dr-Prasad-Akole
Good Luck!
