Semen Analysis Done, Have Pus Cells. What Is My Sperm Count? Antibiotics?
Hello Doctor,
I have took semen analysis today and below is the report. Can you help to advice on the any irregularity for fertility. Do I need to go for antibiotics for Pus cells 2-4/hpf? Can GP will help on it or need to visit Urologist. Please advice on other parameters also..thanks
Appearance - Greyish White Volume - 1 ml Liquefaction Time - 30 mins Viscpsity - NORMAL Reaction - Alkaline Fructose - Present Total Sperm Count - 120.million/ml
Motility: Active - 80% Sluggish - 10% Non-motile - 10% Morphology - NORMAL
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the report of your semen analysis i would like to state that your semen analysis is absolutely within normal range of WHO standards except that it shows pus cells. The presence of pus cells is suggestive of infection either in seminal vesicle or Prostate.
Please take broad spectrum antibiotics for 3 weeks and repeat the semen analysis after completion of course of antibiotics. I think it should get resolved and nothing to worry about. Dr.Patil.
