Scratched By Kitten, No Bleeding. Chances Of Infection?

Hi, Today me and my boyfriend were walking and little kitten started stalking us. my boyfriend took it in hand and put away. but is stretched him for little. there was no blood , just little scratch but i m very scared if it could be rabies or some infection. Should we visit doctor or it s nothing? Thank you

Hello thanks for your question.Your boy friend was bitten by a kitten today, though the injury is in the form of scratch.You have not mentioned was it a domestic kitten or wild ?The bite by wild animals are dangerous ,as hey cause sever infection,other than rabies.You should immediately consult the doctor to decide whether you need anti rabies vaccine or not,however you definitely need antibiotic cover and tetanus toxid.Hope i answered your question.

Hi,
Thanks for your query.if there is no bleeding,there is less chance of developing rabies but i advise to you once you would have to consult with your physician and as early as possible.
