Sciatica On Leg, Painful Spine, Radiates Upwards, Anxious. What Should I Expect?

I fell on my coxes when I was 15, I went to the orthopedic hospital who said it was displaced and he would like to put it back for me. I declined becouse I was very anxious. I went on to do heavy cleaning with floor strippers, using very heavy machines, at the time I was 7and a half stone, very slight. I had one child at 28 and continued to work with these heavy machines in the evenin when my son was sleeping. As the years have gone on I have been in a lot of pain with my coxex not being able to sit or stand, not being able to twist or bend, get sciatica down my left leg. I have the pain all the time, but if I atempt anything strenuous it hurts like crazy. This recent pain I am having starts at the spine and radiates up towards my left hip and bottom cheek, like I have been put in a vice, I can bearly move. What has happened
Can you help shine some light on this , I am now 59. Thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us

The pain in the coccyx that you have described can be related to coccydynia. Radiation of pain could be due to compression over nerve roots by oedema and inflammation. You need to do hot sitz bath to decrease the inflammation in those joints. Taking a mild pain killer and oral muscle relaxants will also help.Physiotherapy helps you a lot.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
