Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding hearing loss in your left ear, which is having retraction of ear drum due to your sinusitis (maxillary).

I have analysed your problems and I would like to tell you that sinusistis is the main root of your disease. The pathophysiological process is as under-

Your existing maxillary sinusitis is giving infection to nose and there will be post nasal drip which is responsible for blocking your eustachian tube (tubular connection between er and throat), this will inturn blocks air entery to your middle ear of left side and results in retractionof ear drum and loss of hearing.

For treatment you should take-

(a) Antibiotic

(b) Anti inflammatory

(c) Anti histaminic and Decongestant

(d) Steam inhalation

(e) Steroid ( With concent of your treating doctor)

I hope this will solve your problem at this time and after wards if condition reoccur than you have to consult your ENT doctor for surgical intervention for sinusitis and grommet insertion in your left ear drum as per need.

Regards.
