Redness Under Eye, Sensitivity, Puffiness, Peeling Skin. What Do I Have?

My Left Under eye has redness,sensitivity,puffiness and skin is peeling.It started in Arizona, and has got worse now in Palm Springs. I have stopped all use of cosmetics, and my susal creams, I am bathing the area carefully and using a hypoallergic cream. It does not itch now, put is still swollen red and some flaking of skin. what do you think I have? why only one under eye? and what treatment do you recommend?

Hello dear..
The symptoms as mentioned in your post indicate that you might be having irritant contact dermatitis.
And symptoms limited to only one eye can be attributed to the fact that some part of the body are more sensitive than others.

Management includes:
1. Application of topical steroid like mometasone.
2. Antihistamine preparations like cetrizine to provide symptomatic relief.

If still there is persistence of symptoms, it will be better to consult a Dermatologist & get a proper examination done.
