Red Circular Patch On Skin On Right Inner Thigh With Small Bite Mark, Soreness

Hi my wife has a red circular patch of skin on her right inner thigh with a small bite mark in it. It s warm to touch and kind of sore is this something to seriously worry about with no sign of fever or sickness or should we just monitor it for the next day or so? She noticed she for bit yesterday and has said its gotten bigger since.

A rash like you describe might be related to a bug bite or an infection. Here are some possibilities to consider:

1. Ringworm
2. Eczema
3. A "target lesion" associated with a tick bite / lyme disease

I hope this gives you somewhere to start. #1 is the most likely. Check with her doctor!
