Reason For Pus And Foul Smell In Child S Ear?

My 2 year old has had a ton of ear infections. His tube just fell out of his ear last sunday and now he has puss and a horrible smell coming out of that ear. Has never had this happen before. Is it just because there is still a hole in his eardrum from the tube that the puss is coming out this time?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
He seems to have a ear infection. One of the reasons could be because of that perforation there. Please consult your doctor for the same. After a physical examination he will start on antibiotic after confirming the diagnosis. A course of antibiotic should be enough to cure the infection. If he has fever or pain that should be treated symptomatically. So please consult your doctor for the same.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
