Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
From your Query i understood that you both suffering from Impetigo.
Impetigo is a highly contagious bacterial disease infecting superficial layers of skin.
It most commonly affects children and predominantly in face.
Bacterias called Group A beta hemolytic Streptococci and Staphylococcus are most common causal agent.
Gentle cleansing, removal of the crusts impetigo using antibacterial soap and a washcloth are useful.
Good personal hygiene with antibacterial washes, such as chlorhexidine or sodium hypochlorite baths may prevent the transmission and prevent recurrences of impetigo.
No test is needed. Just history and physical examination is enough to diagnose Impetigo.
Mupirocin ointment for topical application is usually recommended.
Amoxycillin-clavulanic acid can be used systemically. Dosage according to age.

It is a self limiting disease. even without treatment, it can heal with in 3 weeks. So do not get worried. Please follow the doctor's advice.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
