Prescribed With Finast For Prostatomegaly. Taking Olmegest And Prolomet. Mild Enlarged Prostate. Need Guidance
i had mild prostatomegaly doctor advised to take finast t for few months.initially beforre taking it iexperienced alittle trouble.but now on this drug i feel more comfortable,my prostate at that time was 28cc.as a hypertensio pt i am taking olmegest40 and prolomet am 50 for past 5 years and now finst t for 3 years.doctor please advise if i could quit finast t or opt for only tamuslosin.i am particular about this i had no much difficulty in urination even before finast t.and i came to know mild enlarged prostate accidentally while having echogram for hiranya.im now aged 62.your guidance please

Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have mild enlargement of prostate and taking Finast .If you do not have symptoms like increased frequency of urination, Nocturia or poor stream you may not take finast at this point of time.
You may take Tomsulosin to improve urine flow.
keep monitoring size of the prostate by doing Ultrasound scanning every 3 months.
