Pregnant With Consistent Dry Cough. Worse While Sleeping. No Relief From Inhalers And Other Home Remedies. Chest X Ray And Blood Test Normal. How To Get Immediate Relief?

Hi, I am 31 weeks pregnant with dry consistent cough . I cough day/night 24/7 - worse when I try to sleep. I have tried inhalers/preventers, Amoxcillan (antibotics for 7 days), home remedies etc - you name it but nothing is working. Chest xray and blood tests all came back with no problems. I dont know what else to do now as Doctors cannot help me further...........

Hi...regards form myself.....after reviewing your history..it seems you might be suffering from cough varient asthma...but as u said inhalers or preventers are not effective in your case, you must get your spirometry test done...as that will confirm the diagnosis...ultimately corticosteroid inhalers are the best treatment for such problems...upon that you have not mentioned whether you are having any allegic symptoms like running nose , sneezing, sore throat...along with dry cough...If yes, then definitely you are suffering from allergic disease..Get well soon...thalk u..

it is allergic cough
you can take tab montelucast 10 mgm twice a day as it is safest during pregnancy
you can take combination of syp(cpm+codeine)
tossex 1/2 tsf with warm water twice a day
take for 5 to 7 days
